The Garden of Gentle Breeze at 26907 Sulphur Springs Road in Corvallis is having its grand opening on Mother’s Day, May 13.
The garden is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and features two styles of Japanese Gardens: a small Zen or tea garden and a more informal strolling garden. Located on 10 acres next to scenic Soap Creek, the gardens are open free to the public.
Grand opening events include an opportunity to meet the two master gardeners who designed the gardens, Mike Riddle of Trillium Landscape, Corvallis, and Masa Mizuno a previous director of the famous Portland Japanese Gardens.
Drawings are planned for discounts on wedding venue packages and for a free overnight stay in the caretaker’s cottage which will be, when completed, a bed and breakfast.
Visitors are welcome to enjoy a stroll through the new gardens. For directions, see gardenofgentlebreeze.com. The garden is located at the junction of Sulphur Springs Road and Soap Creek Road; watch for the signs.
