Margaret Aden Allen went to be with the Lord on November 29, 2017.

She was born on October 6, 1918 in Wilmington, California, the youngest of four daughters of Isaac Aden Gibbs and Frances M. (Case) Gibbs. The family moved to Glendale, California shortly after her birth. She graduated from Glendale High School in 1935 and attended Sawyer’s Business College in Los Angeles and Glendale Junior College.

She met Vincent Conrad Allen through friends and they were married May 17, 1942. He had come to Glendale from Idaho to work at Lockheed during the war. They moved to Mullan, Idaho in 1946 and then to Lebanon in 1952.

They had two daughters, Eleanor Frances Wilson, born in 1944, and Rosemary Aleda Bennett, born in 1947. They survive. She also is survived by son-in-law Jim Wilson; two grandchildren, Lisa Marie (Wilson) Faveluke and her husband Alex, and David Wilson and his wife Julaine; and two great grandchildren, Sam Faveluke and Tessa Faveluke.

She worked for eight years as a beauty operator at Mary Ellen’s Nursing Home and Villa Cascade Nursing Home.

Margaret loved to read, especially Zane Grey and books about the Lewis and Clark expedition. She also enjoyed traveling to places she had read about. She and her husband traveled twice to Japan to visit their daughter and grandchildren.

She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, painting, playing the organ and the piano, decorating cakes, and making greeting cards.

In 2006, she moved to The Oaks at Lebanon where she thrived and made many friends.

She was a member of the Lebanon First Baptist Church for 65 years, taught Sunday school and was a leader for Kings Jewels. She also served as a deaconess.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on December 16, 2017 at The Oaks at Lebanon.

She will be interred next to her husband at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Lebanon.
