Margueritte “Peggy” E. Arnold, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the Willey Creek Assisted Living facility in Sweet Home.
Peggy was born September 8, 1924 in Avant, Oklahoma. Her family moved to Lebanon in the late 1930s. After a few years, they moved to Sweet Home. Peggy graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1942.
She met her loving husband, Sheridan through her best friend, who was Sheridan’s sister. They married in February 1946.
Peggy had two brothers who preceded her in death. Sheridan and Peggy had one daughter, Sandra Arnold Spence, who also preceded her in death.
Left to remember her love are son, Roger Arnold of Sweet Home; daughter-in-law, Karen Arnold; two granddaughters, Rebecca Morris and Deborah Galster; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Peggy was a wonderful, Godly woman who was a wonderful homemaker, a volunteer at her church, Sweet Home Christian Church, and at Sweet Home Gleaners. She was awarded the Presidential Volunteer for volunteerism.
She was a wonderful artist, seamstress, crafter, storyteller and cook. She dearly loved her family and the Lord and she was dearly loved by anyone who met her.
Peggy will be dearly missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sweet Home Christian Church.
A funeral service for Peggy will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Sweet Home Christian Church. A meal will be provided following the service.
