Area students qualify for honor roll   

Two Benton County students were named to the Whitworth University fall semester Provost’s Honor Roll.

Christina Worotikan of Adair Village and Megan Fox of Corvallis appear on the list.

The students qualified for the academic honor society by maintaining a grade-point average of at least 3.75 during the semester.

Lebanon woman makes dean’s list

Lauren Christie of Lebanon was placed on the fall semester dean’s list at Hawai’i Pacific University.

The list recognizes the academic achievements of undergraduate students who have earned grade-point averages of 3.5 or better.

Christie is the daughter of Curt Christie and the late Charlotte Christie.

Brownsville student earns academic honor

Alexander Gerber of Brownsville earned placement on the academic distinction list for the most recent semester at Whitman College.

This recognition is given to students who have completed a minimum of 12 credits, passed all credits attempted, and have earned a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on no fewer than nine graded credits during the semester.

Gerber is an alumnus of Marist High School.

Lebanon resident makes dean’s list

Lebanon resident Grace Hess recently made the academic dean’s list at Azusa Pacific University.

Hess is honored for a fall semester academic standing of 3.5 or better grade-point average. She is a major in business: marketing. She is joined by 1,976 other students receiving the same honor.

CHS student named concert mistress

Beatrice Lobscheid, a 14-year-old violinist and freshman at Corvallis High School, was awarded Concert Mistress – First Chair following her audition in the Oregon Music Education Association All-State Orchestra, held Feb. 15 through 17.

The performance took place Feb. 17 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.
