CHS alum matriculates at college
Rose Martines joined the Knox College community by enrolling for fall term.
Martines, of Corvallis, is a graduate of Corvallis High School.
County residents graduate from Pacific
Several Benton County residents graduated from Pacific University in Forest Grove last spring.
Corvallis graduates included Joanna Chadd, doctorate, physical therapy; Karlie Hahn, graduate certificate, health care compliance; and Jennifer Loza, master’s degree, special education. Shawna Neil of Monroe graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in elementary teaching and English language learning.

Corvallis High School Principal Matt Boring recently announced students who received 2018 AP Scholar Awards.
National AP Scholar Awards are granted to students who received an average score of at least 4 on all Advanced Placement exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams. State AP Scholar Awards are granted to one male and one female student in each state with scores of 3 or higher on the greatest number of AP Exams, and then the highest average scores (at least a 3.5) on all AP exams taken.
Christopher Cebra received the National AP Scholar Award and the State AP Scholar Award.
AP Scholar with Distinction Awards are granted to students who received an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
Recipients are Lewis Ayres, Joanna Bomber, Maximillian Brune, Christopher Cebra, Anabel Chang, James Chaplen, Tevan Chinsangaram, Morgan Cooper, Matthew Gradwohl, Timothy Hartley, Dylan Heppell, Caroline Hintzman, Julie Kim, Joo-hee Lee, Aaron Lewis, Seika Mahmud, Nicholas Matsuba, Wesley McLean, Pragyna Naik, Bianca Reinalda, Nathan Remcho, Riley Smith, Lyla Stout, Benjamin Templeton, James Wilson and Mona Wong.
AP Scholar with Honor Awards are granted to students who received an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. Recipients are Mia Bledsoe, Katherine Dong, Bridget Hamel, Charlotte Kehder, Tessa Kern, Franklin Leonard, Kimberly Muth, Margaret Newell, Cameron Reimer and Lily Rogowski.
