Corvallis police cited five men Friday for engaging in a 15-person fight last month that resulted in minor injuries, police reports show.
The men, Juwan Johnson, 20, Matthew Gilmour, 21, of Corvallis, Cole Parra, 19, of Philomath, Christopher Castillo, 20, and Daniel Shall, 20, each face a charge of violent conduct, according to police reports.
The municipal charge is a Class B misdemeanor carrying a penalty of up to six months in jail upon conviction.
Some of the men were walking to a friend’s house about 11:22 p.m. on Aug. 12 when they were approached by other men, who began harassing them, said Lt. Dan Duncan. A fight then broke out on the front lawn of a house at 726 NW 27th St., he said.
Several officers responded to the fight, but many of the participants fled before police could talk with them, Duncan said. Officers investigated the fight to determine who were aggressors were, he said. Police charged the men Friday.
