Corvallis police have identified the man who died earlier this month after being struck by an SUV on Northeast Circle Boulevard as 60-year-old Michael James Castillo.
The address police have on file for Castillo is for Community Outreach, Inc., which provides services to the homeless, said Lt. Dan Duncan.
The crash took place about 7 p.m. on Oct. 12 near Belvue Street, police said. The driver was not cited and is not facing charges, Duncan said.
Police said Castillo was wearing dark-colored clothing and was walking along the fog line of Northeast Circle Boulevard when he was struck by a Ford Expedition driven by a 56-year-old Albany resident traveling eastbound on Circle.
Medics took Castillo to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
Police do not believe drugs, alcohol or distracted driving were factors in the crash. The location was poorly lit and visibility was low due to the weather, police said.
