A Sublimity man was accused of five sex crimes in Linn County Circuit Court on Monday afternoon.
Frederick Michael Koontz, 31, was charged with two counts of first-degree sex abuse, first-degree sodomy, first-degree unlawful sexual penetration and two counts of first-degree rape.
According to the charging document, the accuser, a female, was incapable of consent by reason of physical helplessness.
The crimes occurred on three separate dates in November and December, and the Albany Police Department was the investigating agency, court paperwork states.
Judge Michael Wynhausen set Koontz’s bail at $150,000, as requested by the prosecution, and appointed Timothy Felling as defense counsel.
The next hearing in the case was scheduled for March 4.
