Two things in the news these days attracted my attention.
First, an observation made by my late brother in the 70's as a political columnist seemed appropriate today. He wrote "The left has nothing left to say and the right has nothing right to say." He was referring to the ineptitude of the newly formed government of Bangladesh filled with people completely incompetent for the positions in government they held. Does that sound an alarm as to the goings-on in Washington these days?
The second thing came to mind when I saw a police chief in England being charged with murder for the riots in 1989 in a lousy football game. His activity reminds me of a Gen. Dyer who in 1919 restricted access to a field to people protesting the British rule in India. The soldiers opened fire and over 500 people died. Dyer was welcomed back as a hero and promoted. I think we should charge him with murdering all those people. That will serve justice.
