I believe Sami Al-AbdRabbuh is the best choice for county commissioner. On the most basic level, he knows what the job is. When two candidates recently claimed there was no "job description" for the position, Sami quickly pointed out that the county charter has a detailed description of the responsibilities of the commissioners. Sami has taken the time to read and understand this important document, something all candidates should do.
Sami has a strong foundation that prepares him for this position. He has firsthand experience preparing budgets, and his work on the school board has included budgeting that addresses both the needs of the community and the institutions that serve them.
Sami recognizes the critical issues facing our community, whether it be affordable housing, climate change, health care, or homelessness. His understanding of budgets will help point us toward realistic solutions.
On a personal level, Sami is an honest, caring person. When you talk to him, his passion and enthusiasm comes through. On a board comprised of three commissioners, Sami will be a team player who will listen with respect to other voices and hear other points of view. He has a moral compass that leads him to fight for what is right. That's why I am voting for Sami, and I hope you will too.
