Once again there has been a fire set at Village Green Park! This is not the first time. I've seen garbage cans burned. I've seen a port-a-potty burned and now a dumpster!
We sometimes walk our dogs later in the evening, when it's cooler and on more than one occasion seen teen boys loitering around the park and over at Cheldelin School. One time I saw them trying to wreck one of the port-a-potties, but because I made my presence known, they stopped. Setting fires is not a joke and needs to be stopped before something far more serious happens! One of these arsons could easily get out of hand.
Many people enjoy the park and the use of the baseball diamonds. All I ask is that the parents who live around the park start making sure they know where their kids are and what they are doing. In particular, later at night. It's sad that destroying other's properties is a form of amusement for some.
