The council has made a boneheaded decision to allow Oregon State University to build housing on a prime piece of open space inside city limits.

OSU has other parcels to build housing on so why would the council OK this particular request when other land on campus is available? The saying goes: follow the money.

Since the council is one councilor short, Ward 7, these major decisions should be made when all council seats are filled. The mayor should not be allowed to vote since he really doesn’t represent any neighborhood.

This tangled web of second chance voting stinks to high heaven.
