Regarding the Jan. 2 article in which Linn County Commissioner Roger Nyquist outlined his objections to the affordable housing proposal from Rep. Tina Kotek: I was quite surprised to see several lines of a news article devoted to an editorial from the Bend paper. Seems to me a blurring of "news" and opinion. Was the reporter just trying to fill some space to reach a word count?
It's fine to report on a county commissioner's perspective on potential legislation, but the opinion of another newspaper belongs on the opinion page with other editorials.
