Aleita Hass-Holcombe is an excellent, committed, thoughtful and purposeful leader and resource to those in our community who are homeless.
Years ago, Aleita witnessed the need to actively provide a place of rest, assistance, transportation, nourishment, mentoring, etc. to help address the day-to-day needs of these community members. I have personally noticed that while she is committed to entertaining viable suggestions and evaluating alternatives, Aleita is not satisfied with seemingly endless pontification and debate in a boardroom.
At great personal sacrifice in terms of time, money, reputation and personal employment Aleita voluntarily acted to make a difference in the lives of real people who are homeless. She has come to know and love those she altruistically serves at The Corvallis Daytime Drop-in Center.
Aleita is not an armchair quarterback. Through tireless and selfless service Aleita has gained a profound understanding of the needs of those very constituents. Clearly the topic of homelessness and any associated solutions are beyond complex; however, Aleita Hass-Holcombe has proven her commitment, advocacy and leadership through love, compassion and action. Enough said.
