We use many signs to mark the start of the seasons: flowers blooming in spring, the leaves turning colors in the fall, the student exodus at the beginning of summer.
For those who are leaving and hoping to lighten their load, consider donating any household items to one of the many agencies that provide a way to see that useful things don’t end up in the landfill. Goodwill, Vina Moses, OSUsed Store, Furniture Share, Habitat Restore, for a few, as well as the many thrift and consignment shops in the area, provide a way to be Earth-friendly. It also gives continuing life to, say, things like that coffee maker that kept you wired on caffeine for all those late-night cram sessions before finals. Thank you for caring.
