It seems to me that Corvallis is a special place full of good people; thus, to paraphrase the Bard of Avon, once they are gone, "let us not forget the good that they do.'"
In the parking lot opposite the New Morning Bakery there is a now empty, lonely and somewhat battered stand for a broken sign, that once commemorated a little corner garden prepared by Donald and Sandra Powell, the recently deceased operators of Garland Nursery. Don and Sandra did much good work for Corvallis, the important Oregon nursery industry and many state and local causes. May they not be forgotten.
