I was grateful for Julie Manning’s letter supporting renewal of the Corvallis city levy to provide funding for our valued services. She voiced strong support of Measure 2-123, which will renew the levy for five years without increasing your property tax bill.

As a longtime resident of Corvallis, I also support this renewal. In 1957, my husband and I moved from Boston to Corvallis with three young children (and we added three more in Corvallis). As you might imagine, we all became patrons of the library, swimmers in the old pool at the Corvallis High School, and and later swam at Osborn Aquatic Center, (where, by the way, my husband used to swim every day until he reached age 91). Over the years, we have all enjoyed many of the other wonderful Corvallis Parks. (Our “special” park was and is Cloverland, nearby, closely followed by Avery Park.)

As a family, we have often visited the Senior Center for various activities; I continue to enjoy the Senior Center and watch with interest the renovation progress. I can’t imagine Corvallis without these wonderful services and the buildings that house them! We need to keep them adequately funded, now and in the future. Please vote "Yes" on Measure 2-123.
