I am writing in support of Max Mania for county commissioner. Max, whose personality is quite the opposite of his name, is a thoughtful, considerate and responsive. He is a truly independent candidate who's unaffiliated because he wants to put people and policies above partisanship.
I believe Max is the best candidate to bring a new era of openness and accountability to local government. He also has more experience with a local government than his opponents. Max served on the City Council in Port Angeles, Washington. Among his accomplishments was helping to create their first community garden, getting the city to adopt its first, formal ethics code, adding more members of the public to important advisory groups, allocating more funds to help low-income residents with utility bills, improving relationships with other local governments, and serving as a board member of the local transit agency. And Max takes great pride in having voted against tens of millions of dollars in wasteful spending (he takes the use of the public's money very seriously, and will not see our tax dollars misused).
For experience, for unfettered political decisions, for transparency and openness in process, and for thoughtfulness in leadership, please consider voting for Max Mania for county commissioner.
