Now is the time. For years people have been talking about the needs of South Corvallis. There have been many meetings, surveys, and plans. With all those efforts, South Corvallis still has unmet needs and we need a new tool. As I see it, urban renewal is the right tool for the job.
I am a lifelong resident of South Corvallis. I remember hearing cows moo from the auction yard as a kid. Years have passed with the auction yard sitting empty and an entire stretch of South Third Street looking run-down. We have waited and hoped for something great to come along. Now is the time.
As a community we can shape the future of our town. With urban renewal we will have the chance to see the development we want finally happen and have input on what that development looks like. We can join the multitude of cities that are utilizing this tool for the betterment of their communities. I urge the voters of Corvallis to join me and vote "yes" on Measure 2-121!
