According to Sun Tzu, you should never think that anyone is as inept or incompetent as you need them to be. A lot of what we know comes from people who believed us to be just that.
Consider this; since 1840 less than 600 students have been shot and/or killed in school shootings across the country. Today there are more than 300 million people in the United States, but yet for the sake of less than 600 people, in 179 years, we would deny basic human rights to present and future populations of American citizens. And, apparently, for the sake of political agendas, some would deny pretty much all basic human rights as pesky constitutional restraints to partisan agendas. The truth is children are safer in schools than anyplace else. The point is more about suppression of gun rights than the death of children. Shame.
There are those in the political environment who don’t see people as deserving basic human respect, but as cattle, a means to an end, to be taxed endlessly because their booty doesn’t go for stated causes as much as for failing governmental pension plans that have no value added to all taxpayers.
According to a recent Gallup poll there are many more voters who identify as independents than as Democrats or Republicans. Neither Democrats nor Republicans can succeed without the independent’s support.
It is clear what the future could be, in light of what the past has been.
