The May 14 "As I See It" column promoting the Maduro regime of Venezuela was horrific since it is one of the worst example of propaganda I have ever read. The supporting material quoted is totally incorrect.
However, it is not necessary to burden the reader by analyzing why each point of that column is fraudulent. One merely has to note that the number of refugees from Venezuela now approaches 4 million. And after watching TV showing armored vehicles run over civilians there is little else to say.
However, one should note that while Stalin was starving millions of Ukrainians to death in the 1930s, a reporter for a very prominent New York paper was busy denying it. It took another reporter from the very liberal Manchester Guardian to reveal the true horror of that genocide.
