Yes, the headline seems very hyperbolic. Yet as the rainforest burns, Greenland's ice melts, and a tornado becomes ever stronger as it crosses the warmer ocean waters, our president decides to enable more methane to be released into the atmosphere. Perhaps it's his great "gut for science" that I watched him brag about on TV that lets him ignore the warnings of the vast majority of scientists. But voters need to decide before 2020 if they can believe in his gut or if they believe in the science.
Here are just some of the scientific organizations who hold the position that climate change is real and is being driven by human action: American Association of State Climatologists, American Association for the Advancement of Science, American Public Health Association, United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, Academie des Sciences (France), Australian Academy of Science, Bangladesh Academy of Sciences, Cuban Academy of Sciences, Brazilian Academy of Sciences, Crop Science Society of America, Chinese Academy of Sciences, European Science Foundation, Indonesian Academy of Sciences, Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, Korean Academy of Science and Technology, Islamic World Academy of Sciences, Oklahoma Climatological Survey, Pew Center on Global Climate Change, Russian Academy of Sciences, Science Council of Japan. Royal Society of the United Kingdom, National Academy of Sciences (United States of America).
If I had room I could list 10 times the organizations listed above. Trust science, not Donald Trump's gut.
