President Trump is ignoring the determination of U.S. intelligence professionals that Saudi Arabia’s crown prince ordered the murder of a U.S. resident journalist. The president implies that trade with Saudi Arabia is too important to disturb over a premeditated murder, but, the Saudis are the 22nd most important trading partner of the USA, accounting for less than 1 percent of our foreign trade.
The president also states that we will never know everything there is to know about the murder – but we know enough. The United States must selectively and severely punish the crown prince of Saudi Arabia for this crime. No one is above the law, and President Trump must know this, and act with honor.
