My brother, John Wood, has been a longtime and faithful newspaper carrier for the Democrat-Herald in Albany. He delivers several local and national papers for them in the North Albany area.
On Wednesday, May 29, at the Democrat-Herald loading dock, he suffered a major heart attack and was taken to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis, where he underwent a four-hour double bypass surgery. He will be unable to work for at least eight to 10 weeks. His nephew, John Leys, has set up a GoFundMe account to aid John and his wife, Ruth, who also is partially disabled.
To all his customers, co-workers and friends, you can reach his account on Facebook at "John Wood Heart Recovery Fund." Thank you for all your support.
