Like Mr. Curtis Wright (Nov. 22), we find it appalling that Lee Enterprises has removed editors from its community newspapers. It is odd to send a letter-to-the-editor to a newspaper that has no editor. We enjoyed Mike McInally's editorials and find the ones borrowed from other newspapers less satisfying. They are certainly less appropriate for Oregon readers.
One hopes that the money saved by firing an editor will be sufficient to hire at least one proofreader. Over the years we've had a lot of laughs at the typos in the G-T. Perhaps the funniest was on page A9 of Nov. 16, the same day it was announced that Editor McInally was leaving his post. The article quoting the Mormon leader stated that the faith's home state, Utah, "has 2.1 members." Hmmm.
