Information comes from the Philomath Police Department and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. It does not include all calls for service. The status of incidents might change after further investigation. Locations are approximate. People arrested or suspected in crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.

FRIDAY, JAN. 5

DUII: Philomath Police arrested Crystal Jans, 35, of Philomath, on a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants following a traffic stop at 11:09 p.m. in the 1500 block of Pioneer Street. Jans was transported to Benton County Jail where her blood-alcohol content measured .24 percent, three times the legal limit. During the stop, another officer arrived on scene to provide assistance and Eron Chandler, 37, of Albany, was arrested for interfering with a peace officer.

DISTURBANCE: Philomath Police responded at 3:57 p.m. to the 600 block of Main Street for a domestic disturbance. A verbal argument only, nobody wanted to pursue charges. The Benton County Sheriff's Office arrested the man involved in the argument later the same day.

SUNDAY, JAN. 7

ASSISTANCE: Philomath Police assisted the Corvallis Police Department in attempting to find an individual involved in an attempted vehicle theft near Southwest Windflower Drive in Corvallis. The man, later identified as Nathan Slover, 36, of Corvallis, allegedly later stole a vehicle from the Safeway parking lot. The Benton County Sheriff's Office located the vehicle near the intersection of Plymouth Drive and Bellfountain Road. Philomath Police responded to assist at 12:39 a.m. and the vehicle crashed near the 6700 block of Southwest Plymouth Drive.

WARRANT: Philomath Police arrested Shawn Newport, 50, of Philomath, at 7:50 p.m. in the 800 block of North 12th Street on a statewide felony warrant through Benton County Circuit Court for failure to appear on an original charge of methamphetamine possession.

MONDAY, JAN. 8

ASSISTANCE: Philomath Police responded at 12:24 a.m. to assist the Benton County Sheriff's Office with a report of a domestic disturbance in the 1600 block of Bailey Street. Christopher Cochran, 24, of Philomath, called 911 when Philomath Police arrived on scene to report harassment. BCSO deputies arrived and an investigation determined a verbal argument only. BCSO arrested Cochran on a charge of misuse of 911 and transported him to Benton County Jail.

HIT-AND-RUN: Benton County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report from a woman who said there had been a hit-and-run incident involving her vehicle Jan. 5 at The Woodsman in Philomath. She reported that when she came out to her vehicle, there was a large dent with white paint transfer on the driver's side rear quarter panel. There were no suspects.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 10

WARRANT: Philomath Police arrested Corey Lance Smith, 35, of Philomath, following a traffic stop at 1:45 p.m. on Fern Road near Aurora Lane. Smith had a warrant for his arrest out of Linn County.

THURSDAY, JAN. 11

CRASH: Philomath Police responded at 8 p.m. to the intersection of West Hills Road and Reservoir Road for a traffic crash. An investigation led to a citation being issued for a traffic violation which led to the crash. One individual was transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

MEDICAL: 5:03 p.m., 1200 block of Main Street.

MEDICAL: 11:32 a.m., 23000 block of Gellatly Way.

THURSDAY, JAN. 11

INJURY CRASH: 6:40 p.m., Southwest Reservoir Road and Southwest West Hills Road.

MEDICAL: 9:56 p.m., 2800 block of Newton Street.
