Information comes from the Philomath Police Department and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. It does not include all calls for service. The status of incidents might change after further investigation. Locations are approximate. People arrested or suspected of crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.

MONDAY, JUNE 18

DUII CRASH: A Benton County sheriff deputy responded at 8:15 p.m. to a single-vehicle rollover crash in the area of Old Peak Road and Highway 34. The driver, 27-year-old Scott Willcockson of Philomath, told the deputy that he swerved to avoid hitting a deer, which caused the vehicle to go off of the road and roll onto its top. Willcockson, who was not injured, was cited on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving after reportedly failing field sobriety tests. He was released to his wife, and his vehicle was towed.

SATURDAY, JUNE 30

TRESPASSING: Responding to a trespass complaint at 11:25 a.m. on the 2300 block of Main Street, Philomath Police located the person in question and gave her a courtesy ride to Community Outreach in Corvallis.

VEHICLE CRASH: No one was injured in a vehicle crash at 6:35 p.m. on the 1400 block of Applegate Street.

WARRANT ARREST: A Philomath police officer spotted Michael Eugene Crist, 60, of Philomath, at 8:54 p.m. standing at his front door on the 2500 block of South Newton Street. Knowing that Crist had a warrant out for violating his probation on an original charge of assaulting an officer, the officer approached Crist. Crist reportedly disappeared into his residence but was ultimately located in a neighbor’s backyard. The officer arrested him on the warrant and an additional charge of criminal trespassing.

SUNDAY, JULY 1

INTOXICATED PERSON: Philomath Police responded at 1:24 a.m. to the 300 block of North Seventh Street to assist Philomath Fire & Rescue personnel in locating a very intoxicated female who was in distress. She was found and transported to the hospital.

AGENCY ASSISTANCE: A Philomath police officer, already at the hospital at 2:16 a.m. on a previous call, aided Oregon State Police troopers and a Linn County Sheriff’s Office deputy in removing a combative patient from a patrol vehicle and securing the patient to a hospital bed so that medical aid could be provided.

TRESPASSING: Philomath Police responded at 8 a.m. to a trespassing complaint on the 1200 block of Main Street. The subject had reportedly become verbally aggressive when he was asked to leave a store. The officer reiterated to the man that he needed to leave.

WARRANT ARREST: A Benton County sheriff deputy arrested Jeromy Ruark, 24, on a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for contempt of court after stopping him at 6:26 p.m. at Highway 20 and Kings Valley Highway. Ruark, whose city of residence was not listed, was booked on additional charges of resisting arrest and interfering with a peace officer.

MONDAY, JULY 2

WARRANT ARREST: Philomath Police arrested Arryal J. Baker, 28, of Newberg, on a Yamhill County Circuit Court warrant following a traffic stop at 2:04 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 20 and Highway 34. The warrant was for failing to appear in court on original charges of possession of heroin and methamphetamine, identity theft and failure to carry and present a driver’s license. Philomath Police also cited Baker for driving with a suspended license.

SINGLE-VEHICLE CRASH: A Benton County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded at 4:25 p.m. to Highway 34, about 5 miles southwest of Philomath, for a report of a single-vehicle crash. The driver reportedly fell asleep while traveling east on Highway 34 and drifted into some trees on the right-hand side of the road. The vehicle was severely damaged, and the driver was transported by private vehicle to the hospital.

TWO-VEHICLE CRASH: A Benton County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded at 6:35 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Bellfountain Road and Llewellyn Road. A motorist had begun to make a left turn to go south onto Bellfountain Road and collided with another motorist who was traveling north on Bellfountain Road. The motorist who had attempted the turn was transported to the hospital and was cited for careless driving.

TRESPASSING: A Philomath police officer warned an individual who was camping in a field east of Philomath City Park at 8:49 p.m. that he needed to leave if he did not have permission from the property owners to be there. The man was cooperative and removed his camp.

MEDICAL: 9:50 a.m., 31000 block of Fern Road.

FALSE ALARM: Reported as a fire, but actually a wheel that came off a boat trailer, 2:47 p.m., Highway 20 and Mustang Lane.

SATURDAY, JUNE 30

VEHICLE CRASH: 2:08 p.m., Marys Peak Road.

MEDICAL: 4:49 p.m., 1500 block of Applegate Street.

MEDICAL: 1:24 a.m., 300 block of North Seventh Street.

FUEL SPILL: 12:12 p.m., 1400 block of Applegate Street.

TWO-VEHICLE CRASH: 6:36 p.m., Bellfountain Road and Llewellyn Road.

TUESDAY, JULY 3

FIRE: 1:20 p.m., Highway 34 and Joy Lane.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 4

MEDICAL: 10:40 a.m., 300 block of North Ninth Street.

MEDICAL: 2:27 p.m., 32000 block of Fern Road.

MEDICAL: 5:48 p.m., 1400 block of Applegate Street.

MEDICAL: 1:58 p.m., 24600 block of Daisy Drive.

THURSDAY, JULY 5

ILLEGAL BURN: 12:58 p.m., 24000 block of Stovall Lane.

MEDICAL: 4:18 p.m., 300 block of North Ninth Street.
