The Family Grief Support Group, offered by Benton Hospice Service in partnership with Old Mill Center for Children and Families, plans to next meet on Feb. 4.

The ongoing, monthly group offers support through education and connects parents and kids to other grieving families. A team of Benton Hospice Service professionals and trained volunteers lead age-specific groups that engage in creative activities to encourage open discussion and expression while providing education about grief and loss.

Parents and guardians participate in an adult group to learn more about how to support grieving children and teens while navigating their own grief. Families with children ages 4-18 who are grieving a death are invited to attend.

The group meets on the month's first Wednesday from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Old Mill Center (1650 SW 45th Place, Corvallis). There is no cost to attend with costs are covered by grants and donations from the community.

Participants must register and complete a brief questionnaire before attending for the first time. To register, or to learn more, contact Melissa Allen, Benton Hospice Service bereavement coordinator, at 541-757-9616 or by email at Melissa.Allen@bentonhospice.org.
