The Philomath School District is seeking applicants to serve on its budget committee.
The budget committee is composed of the five Philomath School Board members and five members from the community. Budget committee terms run three years.
During February through early June, the committee convenes three to four times to consider budget recommendations provided to the committee by the district's administrative staff. Meetings last approximately two hours and result in a recommendation to the school board for final approval in late June.
To qualify, candidates must live and be a qualified voter in the district, and must not be an officer or employee of the school district. Interested individuals for the community position are encouraged to call the school district office at 541-929-3169 or obtain an application form on the district website (www.philomath.k12.or.us).
Applications are due back by noon Thursday, Nov. 9. The school board will appoint a new member at its Nov. 16 meeting.
