Reigning College World Series champion Oregon State will open the baseball season ranked No. 8 by D1Baseball.com.

The Beavers, who knocked off Arkansas in three games last June for their third national title, are one of three Pac-12 teams in the top 12 of the poll, which was released on Monday.

UCLA comes in at No. 5 and Stanford is No. 12.

Vanderbilt is the preseason No. 1 and is one of eight SEC teams to make the poll and one of five in the top 10. LSU is No. 2, Florida No. 6, Georgia No, 9 and Ole Miss No. 10.

The Big 12 and ACC have five teams each in the poll.

Texas Tech is No. 3, Louisville No. 4 and North Carolina No. 9.

Arkansas begins at No. 16.

It’s the third top-10 ranking for Oregon State, which is No. 2 by Perfect Game USA and a No. 7 by Collegiate Baseball.

The Beavers are ranked in the top 10 of a preseason poll for the fourth straight season.

Oregon State finished 2018 with a 55-12-1 record and will open the season with eight games in Surprise, Arizona. The opener is Feb. 15 against New Mexico.
