FAIRFAX, Calif. — The Oregon State women’s golf team finished in third place at the 16-team Meadow Club Women’s Intercollegiate on Tuesday.

The Beavers shot a 10-over 294-292—586 at the par-72, 6,157-yard Meadow Club in the event, which was shortened to 36 holes due to a long frost delay on Monday.

It’s the second straight tournament Oregon State has posted a top-five finish. The team finished in fifth place at the Westbrook Spring Invitational last week. The Beavers finished in second place at the Ron Moore Invitational this past fall.

No. 15 Washington won the team title with a 3-under 573 and San Francisco finished second, just three strokes ahead of the Beavers, with a 7-over 583.

Oregon State finished ahead of three teams ranked in the top 50 by golfstat.com and Pac-12 rivals No. 19 Colorado (fourth), Washington State (seventh) and California (10th).

Olivia Benzin and Susie Cavanagh both led the Beavers with a 2-over 146 to tie for 13th place.

Benzin carded two 73s and has now recorded 10 career top-15 finishes. Cavanagh had scores of 70-76 and notched a top-15 finish for the second consecutive tournament.

Freshman Ellie Slama and sophomore Nicole Schroeder both tied for 18th place with a 3-over 147, as Slama had scores of 75-72 and Schroeder posted 76-71.

Freshman Amanda Minni concluded the tourney with an 11-over 76-79—155 for a tie for 60th place.

Brittany Fan of Colorado and Samantha Gong of San Francisco shared medalist honors with a 4-under 140.

The Beavers return to action next Monday and Tuesday at the Entrada Classic in St. George, Utah.
