The 12th-ranked Oregon State gymnastics team competed in the annual annual Orange and Black exhibition at Gill Coliseum on Friday night.
Al but three of the 19 team members performed in at least one event and four of the five of the freshmen made their Gill Coliseum debuts.
Team Black defeated Team Orange 10-7 as Sabrina Gill won all four of her routines. Alyssa Minyard won twice for Team Black and Destinee Davis and Maela Lazaro each notched two wins for Team Orange.
"It was good to get out there to see where we're at right now," coach Tanya Chaplin said. "This type of competition setting helps tell us where we need to concentrate over the next month as we prepare for the season.
"The freshmen did really well. This is a necessary step in preparing them for the season and the competition environment.
"I am pleased that we had a lot of people step up tonight who weren't in competition lineups last year when we had so many seniors. That will be important for us this year."
Davis, Gill and Mary Jacobsen performed in the all-around; Lazaro, Savanna Force and Kaitlyn Yanish were featured on three events apiece.
The Beavers open the season at Pitt on Jan. 13. Their first home meet is set for Saturday, Jan. 27, a Pacific-12 Conference dual with Stanford.
