HENDERSON, Nevada — The Oregon State men’s rowing team claimed four wins in its season-opener at the second annual Lake Las Vegas Regatta.
Saturday’s racing featured duals between Oregon State and Santa Clara before afternoon races scheduled to pit OSU against Dartmouth were cancelled due to high winds. OSU swept all three races against the Broncos on Saturday.
The teams resumed Sunday morning with all three teams racing.
“Racing two strong teams over the weekend allowed us to see where we are early in the season,” coach Gabe Winkler said. “Dartmouth was fast but it showed what we need to do to get that speed. The conditions were tough but such is Mother Nature. You just have to step up and handle it. We have a four week training block ahead of us and more work to be done.”
