BOULDER, Colo. — Colorado scored the final five points of the fifth set and edged Oregon State 3-2 on Friday night in a Pacific-12 Conference volleyball match. Set scores were 25-21, 25-27, 25-23, 7-25, 15-12.
The Beavers had the momentum heading into the decisive set after winning the fourth set 25-7. After trailing 6-2, they rallied to take a 12-10 lead and were poised to earn their first conference win before the Buffaloes rallied.
Mary-Kate Marshall had 22 kills and 16 digs, Maddie Goings had 20 kills and 14 digs and Kory Cheshire had 14 kills and seven blocks for OSU. Kylie McLaughlin added 57 assists, 17 digs and five blocks, Philomath High grad Haylie Bennett had 10 kills and four blocks and Kayla Ellis had 21 digs.
OSU (10-5, 0-3) plays at Utah at 7 p.m. Saturday. It's the last of 13 consecutive road matches for the Beavers, who host California at 7 p.m. on Oct. 6 in their first home match since Aug. 26.
