VANCOUVER, Wash. — Behind a strong first half, the Linn-Benton women’s basketball team cruised to an 80-57 Northwest Athletic Conference victory at Clark on Saturday afternoon.
The Roadrunners led 23-11 after the first quarter and 42-23 at the break.
“I think we came out right away and built ourselves a nice little cushion,” coach Debbie Herrold said. “We worked the ball around, got some open shots and were able to keep the pressure on from there.”
Kelsie Henry and Kelsey Wells both recorded double-doubles for the Roadrunners (9-14, 4-7), who resume NWAC play Wednesday with a home game against Clackamas. Henry finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds while Wells tallied 16 points and 14 boards.
Teammate Madeline Oakden added a game-high 25 points.
VANCOUVER, Wash. — Clark handed Linn-Benton an 82-73 loss, the Roadrunners' second straight defeat in NWAC play.
Bailey Evers paced the Roadrunners (16-8, 6-5) with 20 points. Trent Van Cleave, Taylor Jensen and Adam Harvey added eight points apiece.
LBCC will look to bounce back Thursday against visiting Clackamas.
