West Albany alum Eve Vetter now competes at Whitworth, where she helped her team take third in two relays and finish third in the team standings at the Northwest Conference championship meet.

Men’s swimming

Linfield’s Trevor Gourley (Corvallis) won the 100-yard freestyle in 23.82 seconds and was second in the 100 breaststroke (56.57) and 50 freestyle (20.81) in last weekend’s Northwest Conference championship meet in Federal Way, Washington.

Gourley also had legs on the second-place 200 medley (1:33.07), 400 medley 3:24.86), 200 freestyle (1:25.02) and 400 freestyle (3:06.79) relays.

Linfield was second out of eight teams.

Women’s swimming

Eve Vetter (West Albany) helped Whitworth take third in the 200-yard medley and 800 freestyle relays in last weekend’s Northwest Conference championship meet in Federal Way, Washington.

The teams were timed in 1 minute, 46.79 seconds and 7:49.98, respectively.

Vetter was also fourth in the 200 individual medley (2:09.98) and the 400 individual medley (4:40.97). She had legs on the fourth-place 200 freestyle relay (1:38.98) and fifth-place 400 freestyle relay (3:35.37).

Whitman’s Jessica Robinson (South Albany) was 12th in the 100 backstroke (1:00.55) and 14th in the 200 backstroke (2:13.57). Linfield’s Laina Reichelderfer (Corvallis) was 22nd in the 200 breaststroke (2:47.31).

In the final standings, Whitman was first, Linfield second and Whitworth third.

Lauren Yon (Sweet Home) was third in the 200 breaststroke in 2:26.21 Saturday in Oregon State’s 173-85 loss at Utah.

She was also fifth in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.53).

Men’s basketball

Riley Davis (Philomath) had nine points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals Monday in Linn-Benton’s 86-78 home win against Portland.

Teammate Seth Cullison (South Albany) added one rebound.

Davis had 15 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block Feb. 6 in Linn-Benton’s 83-71 home loss to Umpqua.

Tariq Harris (Crescent Valley) had nine points, 10 rebounds and six assists Saturday in Clackamas’ 91-69 win at Southwestern Oregon in Coos Bay.

Cal Stueve (Philomath) had two points and three rebounds Saturday in Oregon Tech’s 90-75 loss at Corban in Salem.

Friday, he had three points, two rebounds and a steal in a 94-93 win at Northwest Christian in Eugene. Northwest Christian's Dyshawn Hobson (Corvallis) had one assist.

Hobson had three points Saturday in an 87-76 home loss to Southern Oregon.

Jake Costello (South Albany) had two points, one rebound and one steal Feb. 6 in Walla Walla CC’s 81-69 home win against Spokane in Walla Walla, Washington.

Women’s basketball

Ali Nelke (West Albany) had nine points, five rebounds, five assists and two blocks Saturday in Western Oregon’s 59-57 home loss to Simon Fraser in Monmouth.

She had two points, one rebound, two assists and a steal Feb. 7 in a 62-53 home loss to Western Washington.

Madison Ballard (Monroe) had 11 points (including three 3-pointers), one rebound and one steal Saturday in Willamette’s 79-73 home loss to Puget Sound in Salem.

Katie Skipworth (Lebanon) had three points, four rebounds and 10 assists Feb. 6 in Skagit Valley’s 80-77 loss at Everett (Washington).

Hannah Kerlegan (West Albany) had four points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals Feb. 6 in Chemeketa’s 65-51 win at Mount Hood in Gresham.

Peyton Greene (Monroe) scored two points Friday in Northwest Christian’s 59-43 home loss to Oregon Tech in Eugene.

Wrestling

Brawley Lamer (Crescent Valley) won a 3-2 decision at 157 pounds Sunday in Cal Poly’s 39-6 home loss to Air Force in San Luis Obispo.

Saturday, he lost 4-3 at 157 in the Mustangs’ 41-6 home defeat to Fresno State.

Baseball

Justin Tow (Sweet Home) was a combined 3 for 6 with a double, one RBI, a run scored and a stolen base Sunday in Corban’s home doubleheader sweep of Menlo in Stayton. Game scores were 4-2 and 5-1.

Tow walked in his only plate appearance Saturday in a 5-4 loss to Menlo.

Darren Crosby (Santiam Christian) allowed three hits, three earned runs and a walk with four strikeouts in 1⅔ innings Friday in Whitworth’s 7-6 loss at College of Idaho in Caldwell.

Softball

Kaylee Buhrkuhl (Santiam Christian) was 1 for 3 with one RBI Sunday in Corban’s 9-1 win versus Aquinas at a tournament in Lake Elsinore, California.

Friday, she was a combined 3 for 4 with one RBI, two runs scored, two walks and a sacrifice in a two-game split. Corban defeated Vanguard 9-8 and lost to Hope International 7-4.

Men’s track and field

Idaho’s Zack Short (Lebanon) won the shot put with a toss of 61 feet, 1¼ inches Saturday at the Bronco Challenge indoor meet in Boise, Idaho.

Oregon Tech’s Josiah Stroup (Lebanon) was 18th in the 200 meters (23.29 seconds) and helped the Owls take third in the 4x400 relay (3:23.33).

Women’s track and field

George Fox’s Maddie O’Hare (Monroe) tied for 11th in the high jump with a clearance of 4 feet, 9¾ in Saturday’s Bronco Challenge indoor meet in Boise, Idaho.

Teammate Bethany Gingerich (Sweet Home) was 20th in the 400 (1 minute, 0.46 seconds) and 29th in the 60 hurdles (10.08).

Oregon Tech’s Allison Young (West Albany) was 31st in the 60-meter preliminaries in 8.63 seconds. Teammate Hannah Mason (Lebanon) was 33rd in the mile (5:36.24).
