The Post 20 Dirtbags out of West Salem/Dallas rebounded on the second day of the Mickey Riley Star-Spangled Tournament for a 3-1 victory over Dr. Stewart’s out of Roseburg.

Post 20 had opened the tourney with an extra-innings setback to Mid-Valley and managed only three hits in Friday’s victory. The Dirtbags scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth on an error and then added another run on an RBI single by Ryan Snow.

Riley Newman got the victory at pitcher, allowing six hits and two walks with five strikeouts. Dr. Stewart’s Brenden Fricke also went the distance for his team with the three-hitter in a losing cause.

Klamath Falls 13, Beaverton 0 (5)

Marcus Paschal hit a grand slam and Klamath Falls rolled to a mercy rule victory over Beaverton.

The Falcons had already pulled away with eight runs in the second inning before adding five more in the third when Paschal’s hit his slam.

John Guzman went 3 for 4 and Chase Dillon was 2 for 3 to help the Falcons even their record in the tournament at 1-1.

Cody Kuhlman threw all five innings for Klamath Falls, allowing just one hit and no walks with six strikeouts.
