MILWAUKIE – The 15th-seeded Corvallis High girls basketball team faded down the stretch Friday night in a 60-34 loss at No. 2 La Salle in the 5A state round of 16.
La Salle (20-4), the defending state champion, will open the state tournament against No. 10 Crater. Corvallis ends the season with an 11-15 overall record.
The Spartans trailed 11-7 after one quarter and 23-18 at the break. La Salle, which led 36-27 heading to the fourth, outscored CHS 24-7 in the final period.
La Salle senior Taycee Wedin scored a game-high 17 points. Weedin, a guard, will play college basketball for St. Mary’s.
CHS was coming off a 59-52 victory at Churchill in Tuesday’s play-in round.
