Prep cross-country: Philomath girls 4th, boys 8th at Country Fair Classic

VENETA — The Philomath High girls cross-country team placed fourth among 22 schools at the Oregon Country Fair Classic on Wednesday.

Only Marist, ranked third in 5A, and two top 6A schools, South Eugene and Sheldon, finished in front of Philomath.

The PHS boys finished eighth.

Meaghan Alba placed 11th in 19 minutes, 8 seconds and Tegan Weaver was 22nd in 20:10 to lead the girls.

Mitchell Thomas was 18th in 16:33.10 for the boys.
