Tariq Harris and Crescent Valley High hit the road Friday night to face Central in Independence.

Here is a look at Friday’s prep football action. All games begin at 7 p.m.

Crescent Valley at Central (Independence)

Records: Crescent Valley 5-0, 3-0 5A Mid-Willamette Conference; Central 3-2, 1-1 MWC

Crescent Valley, which sits atop the OSAA 5A power rankings, is eyeing its first 6-0 start since 2009. The team already owns victories over No. 2 Silverton (33-13), No. 11 Lebanon (25-24) and No. 12 Marist (42-27).

The Raiders have the MWC’s top scoring offense at 39.2 points per game.

Central held on for a 21-14 win last week at Dallas to even its conference record at 1-1. The Panthers are surrendering a MWC-low 15.6 points per contest.

Corvallis at Silverton

Records: Corvallis 1-4, 0-3 MWC; Silverton 4-1, 2-1 MWC

The Spartans have dropped four consecutive games entering Friday night’s matchup in Silverton.

After holding South Albany to 13 points in its conference opener, Corvallis has allowed 95 total points in consecutive losses to CV (45-44) and Lebanon (50-7).

A late 27-yard field goal lifted the Foxes to a 23-21 victory last season at Spartan Stadium. Corvallis had won the previous meeting between the teams 28-18 in Silverton.

North Marion at Philomath

Records: North Marion 2-3, 2-0 4A Oregon West Conference; Philomath 1-4, 0-2 OWC

Philomath is just a couple of plays short from a perfect conference record.

The Warriors dropped a 29-28 decision at Newport last week and opened OWC play with a 30-28 home loss to Stayton.

After scoring just 14 total points during its 0-3 start, North Marion has averaged 27 points per game against conference foes.

Santiam Christian at Cascade Christian (Medford)

Records: Santiam Christian 4-1, 2-1 3A West Valley League; Cascade Christian 4-1, 0-0 3A Southern Cascade League

Santiam Christian will take a break from WVL play to head down Interstate 5 for a matchup with the Challengers.

Top-ranked SC dropped a 37-19 decision at Dayton last week for its first loss of the season. The Pirates (4-1, 2-0 WVL) are seventh in the 3A power rankings.

Cascade Christian’s lone blemish was a 42-20 defeat at 4A Mazama in Week 3.

Monroe at Oakland

Records: Monroe 3-1, 1-0 2A Mountain View Conference; Oakland 3-1, 0-1 MVC

The Dragons, who played a noncounting eight-man game against the Oakridge JV last week, can take control of the conference race Friday night.

Second-ranked Monroe’s only defeat was at No. 1 St. Paul in early September.

Oakland is coming off a tough 19-18 road loss at Lost River.
