CORVALLIS — The Crescent Valley boys basketball team downed Ashland 71-61 at the CV Invitational on Saturday to finish the event with a 2-0 record. 

Tariq Harris had 33 points and 10 rebounds, and was 13 of 13 from the free-throw line for the Raiders, who defeated Hermiston on Friday night. Spencer Boock had 13 points and Anshul Prasad 10 for CV (4-5).

The Raiders conclude nonleague action by hosting North Eugene on Wednesday. They host Silverton on Jan. 9 in their Mid-Willamette Conference opener. 

Monroe 66, Creswell 60

SALEM — Monroe topped Creswell in the fifth-place game of the Salem Academy Tournament at Salem Academy High School. 

Brian Goracke had 18 points and 10 rebounds, Zach Young had 19 points, five rebounds and three assists and Mason Crowson had 10 points and six rebounds in what coach Chad Goracke called "a big night for him."

The Dragons (7-4) travel to Riddle on Friday for their Mountain View Conference opener.

Harrisburg 39, Warrenton 24

LINCOLN CITY — Harrisburg snapped a 10-game losing streak by topping Warrenton at the Kiwanis Holiday Tournament at Taft High School.

Harrisburg (3-11) concludes its nonleague schedule when it hosts Gold Beach on Wednesday. It starts Mountain Valley Conference action by hosting Glide on Friday.

Jefferson 53, Neah-Kah-Nie 51

ROCKAWAY BEACH — The Lions edged the host team in their final game at the Neah-Kah-Nie Tournament at Neah-Kah-Nie High School.

Jefferson evened its record at 6-6. The Lions visit Colton on Wednesday in their PacWest Conference opener.

Girls basketball

CORVALLIS — Crescent Valley finished the CV Invitational with a 2-0 record when the Raiders trounced North Eugene 70-29. CV topped Ashland on Friday night.

Peyton Dale had 20 points and Cali McClave 18 to lead CV (8-1). The Raiders conclude nonleague action at North Eugene on Wednesday. They visit Silverton on Jan. 9 in their Mid-Willamette Conference opener. 

West Albany 72, Hillsboro 66

LAKE OSWEGO — West Albany salvaged its finale at the Lake Oswego Nike Shootout with a 72-66 overtime win over Hillsboro at Lake Oswego HS. The Bulldogs were 0-3 at the event prior to Saturday.

West (5-4) opens Greater Valley Conference action on Tuesday when it hosts North Salem.

Warrenton 58, Harrisburg 34

LINCOLN CITY — Harrisburg fell in its finale at the Kiwanis Holiday Tournament at Taft High School.

Harrisburg (6-6) concludes its nonleague schedule when it hosts Gold Beach on Wednesday. It starts Mountain Valley Conference action by hosting Glide on Friday.

Jefferson 56, Jewell 23

ROCKAWAY BEACH — Jefferson routed Jewell in its final game at the Neah-Kah-Nie Tournament at Neah-Kah-Nie High School.

It was the fourth win in a row for Jefferson (10-2). The Lions visit Colton on Wednesday in their PacWest Conference opener.

E. Linn Christian 43, Umatilla 35

SALEM — The Eagles topped Umatilla at the Salem Academy Tournament at Salem Academy.

ELC (5-7) opens Tri-River Conference action by hosting Kennedy on Tuesday.

Kennedy 58, Monroe 40

SALEM — Monroe lost its first game after two wins at the Salem Academy Tournament at Salem Academy High School. It ended a six-game winning streak.

The Dragons (9-2) travel to Riddle on Friday for their Mountain View Conference opener.

Wrestling

CLATSKANIE — Jefferson placed fourth at the 10-team Clatskanie Invitational.

Champions for the Lions were Rene Flores (120) and Riley Davis (182). Diana Medina (106) and Connor Fairchild (138) took third; Luis Cortes (152) and Daniel Wilske (160) placed fourth and Dalton Keifer (126) was fifth.

The Lions return to action on Saturday at the Alsea Bay Classic in Waldport.
