Top-seeded Rajul Chikkalingaiah of Crescent Valley won his match in the first round of the Mid-Willamette Conference tennis championship on Wednesday at the Timberhill Tennis Club.
Chikkalingaiah defeated Booker Mongconchaihan of South Albany, 6-0, 6-0 and will face Corvallis' Quincey Johnson in the second round. Johnson defeated Tanner Pozder of Lebanon, 6-0, 6-1.
No. 2 seed Sam Larson of CHS defeated Marcus Hemshorn of Silverton, 6-0, 6-1 to advance.
Third-seeded Lewis Shotton of CV took a 6-2, 6-0 win over Tucker Adams of Lebanon.
No. 6 seed Nick Weaver of Corvallis and Berkley Noble of CV also won. Fifth-seed Alvin Chang will play his first round match on Thursday.
CV's No. 1-seeded doubles team of Luka Soskic and Nathan Liu advanced, as did the No. 2-seeded Wilson Xing and Jonah Wafula of CHS, who defeated CV's Ryan Alder and Nik Turkisher, 6-0, 6-2.
CV's Connor Balderston and David Wen outlasted Sebastian Price and Derek Osenga of CHS, 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3).

In girls doubles, No. 1 seeds Lia Van Steeter and Anjali Chikkalingaiah of CV advanced along with the No. 2 team of Marin Wood and Catrina Liner (CHS).
No. 5 seeds Vanessa Bourque and Miranda McGough of CHS also move on, as do CV's Megan Alder and Sarah Huang and Corvallis' Nicole Regan and Livy Molitor.
CV's Kate Fagan and Kira Evitts and Corvallis' Hannah Creswick and Colleen Corrigan won their first round matches and will meet in the second round.
