Crescent Valley High brothers Legend Lamer and Brawley Lamer are No. 1 overall seeds at the 5A state wrestling championships.
The two-day tournament runs Friday and Saturday at Portland’s Memorial Coliseum for all classifications.
Legend Lamer, a sophomore, won the 106 title a season ago as the No. 2 seed. He defeated Crater’s Zeth Brower by a 7-0 decision in the championship match.
Brawley Lamer placed second at 126 last year and third as a sophomore at 106.
Joining the Lamers at state will be CV sophomore heavyweight Brandon Lareau, who is not seeded.
Freshman Izaak Worsch (132) is Corvallis’ lone state entry.
Anthony Rath (126) and James Howell (152) will be Philomath's representatives at the 4A state championships.
Howell, a junior, also made state last year at 152.
Neither wrestler is seeded.
Santiam Christian junior Caleb Beck is seeded second at 182 for the 3A state championships.
Beck placed fifth last year at 160.
Sophomore teammate Jason Manzi is the No. 3 seed at 138. He was a state semifinalist at 132 as a freshman and went on to place sixth.
Fellow sophomore Luke Janssen (unseeded at 126) rounds out SC’s state entries.
Sophomore Louden Ballard of Monroe is the No. 2 overall seed in the 120-pound bracket at the 2A state championships.
Ballard will be joined by teammates Alec Avery (126), Justin Doyle (132) and Dani Sanchez (220). All three are unseeded.
