The Philomath High School girls tennis team remained unbeaten Tuesday with an 8-0 victory over visiting Estacada.

Playing on the courts at Ashbrook Independent School, the Warriors won the three contested matches in straight sets and the other five victories came on forfeits. Estacada only brought four players so the action was limited to No. 1 and No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles.

Selah Carlisle was unchallenged in her No. 1 singles match with a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Maddie Melton didn’t have much to worry about at No. 2 singles either with a 6-1, 6-1 win. And at No. 1 doubles, Ella Skinkis and Lindsay Schell rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 win to remain undefeated this season.

Philomath’s record now stands at 10-0 overall. The team heads to Madras Thursday.

The boys tennis team was scheduled to compete at Estacada but it was rained out. The match has been rescheduled for Friday. The boys will host Stayton Wednesday and Madras Thursday on the Ashbrook courts.
